I am overwhelmed by how well the blog has done for its first two weeks. As of this morning, it was at 1262 hits (an average of 90 a day) which does not include views by Doug or me. That is a phenomenal number for a new blog, and I consider it really excellent when factoring in the dearth of posts this last week. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you continue! Twenty of you have also subscribed, and I really appreciate that. For those who would like to subscribe, see “SUBSCRIBE” near the top of the right sidebar, key in your email address in the window and click on the “Follow” button. If you are a WordPress user, you only need to click the “Follow” button.
If you would like to submit a post to the blog, please see the page cleverly named “Submit a Post” on the tabs above for more information, or you can simply click here.
note: to dispel confusion about January dates on the first few posts, the blog was made public on February 12, 2012.

Doug needs a kidney transplant. He was recently added to the deceased donor list and has a wait of up to five years. But he has been advised a living donor kidney is best. So I come with this blog to make others aware and to encourage him. For more info, please see the “Kidney Donation” page.
Lisa, I’m glad you’re doing this for all of us who love you, Doug and your kids. I’m glad to have had a front row seat for the beginning of your story together.
Thanks, Tom, and I’m glad you’ve been there from the beginning too! Hope you’ll send me something to post sometime. But whatever the case, I have posts with you in them. : D
Lisa…I’ve been wondering about and praying for Doug and your entire family ever since hearing about Doug’s need for a kidney transplant. I love what I’ve read so far. So interesting to know how you guys met. Looking forward to reading more of this story and learning how you all are doing!!! Love you so much! 🙂
Thank you for the prayers! I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog and hope to post many more entries. Would love to see you sometime but have no idea when I could make it to Arkansas. You will have to come to Colorado! 😀
Hello Lisa, I am an old, old friend of Doug’s, we spent many hours running laps together at the old Pennington Field in Texas. I saw some pictures of your kids and it brought back many memories of seeing Doug running with the same form and determination. My prayers go out to Doug and your family. I look forward to hearing more about the Story on your blog and say hello to Doug for me.
Dan, thank you for dropping by! I’m pretty sure I have seen your picture in a yearbook. So good to hear from you, and I have passed this onto Doug. At some point I hope he will feel well enough to respond to comments. In the interim, just know that he really appreciates it and also remembers those times running as good times. Thanks again and we really appreciate the prayers.
